The Global Model United Nations (GMUN) is the achievement of the cooperation between the Rome based State Universities – University of Rome Tor Vergata, Sapienza University of Rome and Roma Tre University, and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), launched by the students of the B.A. in Global Governance, within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between IFAD and the Department of Economics and Social Sciences of the respective universities.
Integrity, commitment to change and diversity are features that we value the most in our delegates. Applicants with different levels of MUN-expertise and backgrounds are welcome to submit their candidacy. Every year our team works very hard to select the best applications and create and inclusive, productive environment to make our session output as impactful as possible. Sounds like you? If the answer is yes, we cannot wait to hear from you!
This year’s edition aims to bring together global changemakers to deliver a more impactful output and create a network of like-minded youth. In order to encourage applications of participants from disadvantaged backgrounds, attendance to the conference is free of charge. Certificates will be issued to all delegates present at the event.
Not only is GMUN a point of convergence for ambitious youth, it is also an opportunity to further your knowledge of international relations. As a matter of fact, by taking part in the simulation you will gain valuable insight about foreign policy and conflict resolution. Delegates can expect gain significant experience.
What I feel like saying about last year’s GMUN experience is: try it out, it’s worth it!
I’m telling you, I had never actually participated in a Model United Nations simulation before and I was amazed by how friendly the whole experience turned out to be.
GMUN 2019 was a great success, bringing together students from all over the world and engaging ourselves in lively debates. It showed once again that multicultural interaction and cooperation is fundamental for our young generation to shape the future.
GMUN was the perfect way to engage with like-minded individuals on the issues that really matter, as well as make new friends and have a ton of fun!
GMUN is for me the place where I met like-minded people from around the globe, with whom I enjoyed working together to find global solutions to global problems.
GMUN is an experience which evokes passion, potential, teamwork and friendship.
Being a delegate changed my view of the internal workings of the United Nations and made me understand the complexity and intense negotiation behind the adoption of every single resolution.
